Travel insurance is like all insurance – it transfers the financial risk of a significant loss to you or your property to an insurance company.
Many Canadians enjoy traveling and travel often, whether to another Province or outside of Canada.
However, if you have an accident or become ill outside of your home Province, your Provincial Health Plan may not cover all your medical bills. Without Travel Insurance you may be responsible for paying significant medical expenses.
Travel Medical Insurance is designed to give you the assurance that should something happen to your health while you are traveling, you can afford the medical treatment you need. Travel Insurance is relatively inexpensive, particularly for younger people taking short trips.
Criticalinsurance.com is contracted with reputable Insurance companies and therefore able to offer a wide range of travel insurance options including plans specifically designed for short trips, long trips, and frequent travel and for people even with health challenges.

Canadian Mortgage Life Insurance A home is filled with many treasured memories. It is imperative for the security of your family and for your own peace of mind to have mortgage life insurance. A plan that will provide for your family in the event of an untimely tragedy. In Canada, mortgage life insurance is readily available and affordable, and will help keep your family where they belong, in their own home.
Mortgage Life Insurance That Protects the Borrower In Canada, mortgage life insurance is available in several forms.
Lender Controlled Mortgage Life Insurance in Canada
Most lending agencies offer a type of mortgage life insurance that protects the lender from financial hardship should you default on your home loan due to a death or disability. This type of mortgage insurance is often not enough to relieve the financial strain placed on a family when a tragedy occurs. Renewing your mortgage with a different lender forces you to reapply for this "lender controlled mortgage life insurance" at an older more expensive age. It is frequently underwritten at the time of claim, which can result in unexpected denials of coverage
Borrower Controlled Mortgage Life Insurance in Canada:
Purchasing mortgage life insurance from an outside insurance agency will provide you with the peace of mind of knowing that your mortgage life insurance policy will not be controlled by the lender. Instead, it puts the control of your policy where it belongs…with you.

Life Insurance
In Your world you have so many people you love and care for…
Yours and their financial being and security are important to you - life insurance is a way of protecting your and theirs, today and tomorrow.
A life insurance policy will help you protect your loved ones, plan for life challenges and still realize your financial goals.
What type of insurance and how much insurance do you need?
In a simplistic way, you must choose between two types of insurance:
Term Life Insurance and/or
Permanent Life Insurance
Term Life Insurance is generally the least expensive at least initially and provides insurance protection for a specified period of time –for example 10, 20 years. At the end of the term, that is your specified time period, your Life Insurance policy can be renewed until a certain age - typically your premiums will increase at the time of renewal.
Term Life Insurance is ideal for young families as it is relatively inexpensive. It can also supplement other coverage when you have additional financial responsibilities for a certain period of time, as in the case of a mortgage.
Therefore, it is also used as a much better alternative to the Mortgage Life Insurance offered by Financial Institutions.
Permanent Life Insurance as in Whole Life Insurance and Universal Life Insurance can offer protection in certain instances up to a specific age and/or for your entire lifetime. Permanent Life insurance policies can build a cash value -money that you can borrow against or withdraw to meet future goals.
Although initially Permanent Life insurance is more expensive than Term Life Insurance, Permanent Life Insurance premiums do not increase with age and since the policy can build a cash value, in the long term it can offer better value depending on your needs.
Long Term Care
Long Term Care helps provide for the cost of long-term care beyond a predetermined period. Long-term care insurance covers care generally not covered by health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.
Individuals who require long-term care are generally not sick in the traditional sense, but instead, are unable to perform the basic activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, bathing, eating, toileting, continence, transferring (getting in and out of a bed or chair), and walking.
Age is not a determining factor in needing long-term care. About 60 percent of individuals over age 65 will require at least some type of long-term care services during their lifetime. About 40% of those receiving long-term care today are between 18 and 64. Once a change of health occurs long-term care insurance may not be available.
Long-term care insurance generally covers home care, assisted living, adult daycare, respite care, hospice care, nursing home and Alzheimer's facilities. If home care coverage is purchased, long-term care insurance can pay for home care, often from the first day it is needed. It will pay for a visiting or live-in caregiver, companion, housekeeper, therapist or private duty nurse up to 7 days a week, 24 hours a day (up to the policy benefit maximum).

Disability Insurance
Disability Insurance provides a monthly income replacement if you become injured or ill and can no longer perform your normal work duties. The benefit is generally limited to a percentage of your regular income and will start 30, 60 or 90 days after you become injured or ill. It ceases once you earn an income or you no longer meet the definition of disability in the contract.
Give special consideration to this type of insurance if you are self employed or have your own business. It is also important to note that some companies do not provide Disability insurance.
There are a variety of Disability insurance plans we offer. Please contact us for further information on the available plans based on your needs.
